animation and reference

(NOTE: This is an older post that was removed by accident and is being reposted. No changes have been made.)

Staying open to new ideas through the process led to my first ‘hand drawn’ frames in a GIF. I didn’t notice that guy on the ship until I started this project….a reminder to take more time and pay more attention. Also, I stuck with this animation process, even as things got t-e-d-i-o-u-s. I’m happy about that.

Some lessons: When exporting, the white was tinting blue…. an easy google search and export color luminosity fix. And the rendered/exported version was playing faster than the photoshop file…. couldn’t find an easy export fix for this, so just slowed down the gif in photoshop.

Separately, the concept/use of Warp and Weft is prevalent in Maggie’s practice and in conversations in our home. I haven’t worked with fabric or weaving though and it still feels foreign to me, so I’m putting this here to help me keep things straight and will add more as needed.
